Sven: I want to manage Liverpool

Posted by

Sven Goran Eriksson has claimed that if he could manage any Premier League side in the country, it would be Liverpool.

“I’m an old, old Liverpool fan – and I always have been – just like my father,” he told Ball Street.

Watch the clip, below!

The infamous Swede was England boss between 2001 and 2006 and managed our so-called Golden Generation, which included Michael Owen, Steven Gerrard, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Ashley Cole among others.

Looking back at those names, it’s a travesty that we never got to the business end of a major international competition.

Sven went on to manage Ivory Coast and Leicester City, failing at both – and has had three consecutive jobs in China, on presumingly astronomical wages!

We’re not sure if at 69, Sven’s the right man to ever lead Liverpool, but we do admit to having a soft spot for him during his England reign…

But after Jurgen Klopp’s done what he needs to at Anfield, we’re backing Steven Gerrard to take over.
