21-goal Liverpool star drops alarming revelation on Anfield future

Divock Origi admits he is unable to say with any certainty what the next step in his career will be.

The Liverpool striker is currently on loan at Bundesliga club Wolfsburg as he looks to rediscover his top form following a stuttering period in his Anfield career.

Origi teased glimpses of promise whilst on Merseyside, but struggled to produce a string of dominant performances that would consolidate his place in the team.

Besides revealing that it was he who requested a summer loan move, Origi claims it is tough to know where his future lies.

“When I made my choice (to leave), whatever choice I make, if the club is ok with it they will agree with it. I think he was behind my choice and he wished me good luck,” he told the Independent.

“It’s difficult to say, what I can say is that I want to one day show my talent at a constant level. That comes from playing, learning, expressing yourself and going through good and difficult moments.”

“That’s what I am experiencing now at Wolfsburg. It can come quickly or it can take some more time. Everything can happen, I can have injuries or whatever, but of course I try to make the most of it. One thing for sure is that I believe in my ability and we will see where it goes.”

Origi’s performances in a Liverpool shirt have always left fans feeling somewhat unfulfilled and often aware of the fact he is capable of so much more.

Rarely did the 22-year-old exploit the natural pace he has the potential to threaten with, nor did he assert himself as the physical focal point capable of matching the intricate link up of the playmakers around him.

A young man blessed with the desired physical and technical attributes so frustratingly and so often left a lot to be desired.

Origi has seemingly reverted back to the basics in Germany, adopting the right-wing role that he developed in during his time with Lille.

A fresh direction seemed the logical approach for a man who has never been the same since being sidelined by a horrific Ramiro Funes Mori tackle in the Merseyside Derby back in April 2016.

One thing that bodes well is Jurgen Klopp’s notable appreciation for what Origi has to offer. The German isn’t one to let obvious talent go to waste.
