Sadio Mane has no problem with Jurgen Klopp, despite the odd suggestion to the contrary in recent weeks.

The pair engaged in a fairly heated dispute after Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea, in which Klopp only brought on his flying winger with a few minutes left. Mane claimed their discussion was merely tactical, but was left out of the starting XI that beat Brighton at the weekend, despite a strong midweek performance away to Stoke in which he opened the scoring.

Mane though was adamant that the pair share a very good relationship.

“Jurgen Klopp is like my father”, the winger told French publication SFR, when asked if the pair had fallen out.

We’ve been surprised Mane hasn’t been one of the first names on the team-sheet in recent weeks, but in fairness to Klopp, his rotation is working.

Liverpool have won five and drawn two of the seven games we’ve played since the Spurs debacle, and should have beaten Chelsea and Sevilla to boot.

What’s more, Coutinho, Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Mane are all free of injuries, as are their backup options Daniel Sturridge, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Dominic Solanke.

Provided we keep picking up three points, Klopp can select whoever he likes.
