Respected journalist answers Antoine Griezmann to LFC questions

Antoine Griezmann won’t consider Liverpool as an option for his next club until we consistently prove we’re title challengers, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

The reporter made the claim in his column for Sky Sports, suggesting the Frenchman is a league above Liverpool at this moment.

‘Do you think Liverpool could attract someone like Griezmann?‘ Balague was asked.

‘Griezmann is thinking of different things,” he began. ‘Liverpool have to prove they are genuine title contenders again to be able to attract the likes of Griezmann. I don’t think Liverpool are on Griezmann’s radar at this moment in time.’

We’d ask Balague to have a long look at Liverpool’s current attack before making such statements…

26-year-old Griezmann has scored seven goals in all competitions this term, four less than Roberto Firmino, 10 less than Mo Salah and only one more than Coutinho – who’s played in midfield.

Going forward, Liverpool are jaw-dropping and right now, Griezmann wouldn’t even get in the side!

We would take some of his defensive Atletico Madrid team-mates, mind. Diego Godin is maybe the best central defender in the world, but young Jose Gimenez is much more realistic considering he’s available on a Bosman in less than one month’s time.
