- Suggestions that Sadio Mane is upset by Mo Salah’s role at the club are nonsense
- Rumours circulated following Mane’s shot v Everton, when he should have crossed
- Both players came first and second in BBC African Player of the Year award yesterday

Mo Salah may have taken over from Sadio Mane as Liverpool’s biggest goal threat – and just pipped him to the African Player of the Year award, but there’s no internal rivalry between the pair.
Unlike with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, these two genuinely like each other and are working towards a common goal.
On Saturday during the Merseyside Derby, it was claimed by many that Mane’s mistake (when he shot rather than squared it) was due to the Senegalese being jealous of the flying Egyptian.
Here’s just two of many tweets that circulated:

But the reality is that Mane and Salah have enjoyed a brilliant relationship all season.
Mane assisted Salah twice v West Ham at the London Stadium, once again v Stoke – and has been helping his new team-mate enormously with his selfless runs and movement.
Remember v Arsenal at Anfield, when he sprinted the length of the field just to block Hector Bellerin from catching Salah…?
We already knew the rumours were rubbish, but this picture of the pair from Melwood yesterday helps!
Below, you’re looking at the two best players in Africa, both of who play for Liverpool and work fantastically together. This is the narrative that should be peddled.
As you were!
No way are these guys jealous of each other – good pals working together. Mane made a mistake on Saturday, but look how many times he's assisted Salah this season already. pic.twitter.com/RhD1J7aZCs
