Guinean journalist gets LFC fans excited with Naby Keita January hint 🇬🇳

It’s very close to transfer silly season again, which means like the rest of the fanbase, we’ll be hanging off the every word of obscure journalists from over the world and trying to work out if they’re talking rubbish or not!

You may remember in the summer that two Guinean journalists, Sega Diallo and Amadou Makadji, became mini-celebrities by breaking all the ‘Keita to Liverpool’ transfer news first – the initial bid, Rb Leipzig’s refusal, our eventual structured deal for the 22-year-old, etc.

And yesterday, Diallo claimed there may be a festive treat for Reds, suggesting Keita could sign in January – providing Ralph Rangnick allows it.

The Express also published an editorial in which they spoke about the chances of a January deal, after getting quotes from Bundesliga ‘expert’ Lee Price.

“Leipzig’s novelty is wearing off – they’re fifth in the Bundesliga this season, and have been demoted to the Europa League, where they face a tough tie against Napoli,” he said.

“For Keita, the challenge has almost gone, and he ideally wants to move to Liverpool now.

“The player doesn’t intend to rock the boat hugely in Leipzig, and is relishing the winter break in Germany, but his camp is expected to push for a move upon his return to training in January.”

However, we know all about Rangnick’s stubbornness and would be very surprised if he changed his stance, with Rb desperate to qualify for the Champions League again.

They don’t need money, they need Bundesliga points, so offloading their best player would be damaging.

Sadly, we can’t see it happening.
