LFC fans delighted as New No.8 set to join this January

Rb Leipzig have softened their stance on Naby Keita joining Liverpool this month instead of in the summer.

Multiple German publications last night reported that the Bundesliga outfit will allow the Guinean’s exit, providing Liverpool stump up around £13m for the privilege.

The Echo also backed up these claims, so providing Liverpool are willing to part with some of our £142m Coutinho windfall, Keita could be heading to Anfield early.

Liverpool already agreed to buy the midfielder for a premium on top of his £48m release-clause to guarantee him for 2018, but could now add an extra lump sum, which will bring his overall transfer fee to around £70m.

Steven Gerrard’s old no.8 shirt has been kept for Keita, who’ll provide our midfield with energy, dribbling, feistiness and creativity.

From what we’ve seen of him, he’s potentially world-class – and think the cub will take the chance to snap him up now.

Although it’s basically a £13m loan-fee for a cup-tied player, it’ll be financially worth it if we qualify for the Champions League and win the FA Cup!

The midfield is threadbare currently and Keita could be the difference between silverware or not.

Once he’s arrived, we need a new keeper and another creative playmaker – but these may wait until the summer.
