Danny Ings in limbo as Klopp waits on transfer decision

Liverpool forward Danny Ings is waiting to see what will come next.

The 25-year-old has played 11 minutes of Premier League football this term, despite fully returning from injury.

As a result, it was presumed that he’d be granted a loan exit this January, but 19 days in, nothing has surfaced.

According to the Telegraph, this is because Jurgen Klopp won’t let both Ings and team-mate Daniel Sturridge depart in the same window, which would leave us threadbare in the forward position.

Sturridge is a big target for Inter Milan and Sevilla, but the European clubs want him on loan, while we’re demanding £30m. As a result, it’s likely to go right down to the wire, meaning Ings would likely remain at Anfield anyway.

It’s Danny Ings’ third season as a Red and he’s still made just eight Premier League appearances.

He needs an exit to fulfil his potential, but the Englishman may have to wait until the summer with Liverpool still competing on three fronts and needing bodies in reserve incase something happens to Roberto Firmino.
