‘We are really serious people’ – Klopp dismisses any LFC complacency concern

After hugely frustrating back-to-back losses, Jurgen Klopp is adamant that complacency is not the reason behind Liverpool’s slump.

Having seen off Manchester City to extend our own impressive unbeaten run earlier this month, things were looking positive. However, a slip-up at Swansea City in the league and crashing out of the FA Cup at the hands of West Bromwich Albion have left us all asking questions.

With a trip to Huddersfield Town to prepare for on Tuesday night, the last thing that we need is another disappointing outcome, and Klopp has assured us that recent results are nothing to do with complacency as he now has to find a way to get us back on track.

“Nothing in training gave me a sign that the boys misjudged the success or result against Man City, or the performance,” Klopp said, as reported by Goal.com.

“We are really serious people and we took it, I think, in the right way, but then we had two games and we have to show that we can do better.”

We certainly know the players are capable of much better, but it’s one thing saying it and another seeing it on the pitch.

While we’re still in fourth spot in the Premier League table, a return to form in midweek would be a welcome boost to ensure that we stay there and avoid giving Tottenham a chance to close the gap further, while also keeping an eye on Chelsea above us to stay within striking distance to move up a spot.
