Zidane wants to cash in on world-class playmaker; LFC would be mad not to try…

Real Madrid have lost patience with Spanish superstar Isco, suggest reports emanating from TV last night.

On the show ‘El Chiringuito’, Journalist Josep Pedrerol told viewers that Zinedine Zidane had personally had enough of the playmaker following months of poor form.

Isco has just one assist in his past ten matches and alongside others, is being blamed for Real Madrid’s poor campaign, in which they currently sit fourth, almost 20 points behind Barcelona.

“After a discreet season so far, Zidane feels let down by the player and as things currently stand will request that the club offload the player in the summer transfer market should the French coach remain on the Santiago Bernabeu bench next season,” Pedrerol said, cited by AS.

Firstly, we’re not entirely convinced by these claims. Real Madrid are already regretting allowing James Rodriguez and Alvara Morata to leave as their diminished squad hasn’t been able to take on multiple competitions, so selling Isco, regardless of his form, would be a confusing decision.

Also, unless Madrid win the Champions League, we can see Zidane being fired, such is the ruthlessness of the Real Madrid board – meaning the decision would be out of the Frenchman’s hands.

However, if Isco is genuinely available in the summer, Liverpool would be absurd not to go all out for him.

At 25, he’s the perfect age and not too old for FSG to consider a mammoth sum a risk. He offers the creativity, guile and technical ability of Coutinho and there were many claiming earlier on this season that he’s actually the Brazilian’s superior.

We’re armed with enormous transfer funds and it’s players like Isco who we should be chasing, especially considering how naturally he’d slot into our midfield three as the offensive, ‘free-role’ option.

Something to dream about, anyway.
