Eto’o has an interesting idea about Mo Salah and Liverpool…

Former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has waxed lyrical about Liverpool’s Mo Salah.

The Cameroonian legend thinks Salah is one of the planet’s very best and has claimed Liverpool should eventually consider making the flyer our permanent captain.

Salah currently captains Egypt and has proven his leadership during international duty, but for Liverpool, Jordan Henderson wears the armband, or James Milner when he’s not fit.

“He has probably been one of the best players in the world,” Eto’o said.

“His performances for Liverpool have been great and, for me, I am always glad to see African players at the top level.

“He deserves his awards and hopefully he has more years like this.

“He will not scream at you to do this or do that but people like him command respect.

“His attitude off the pitch also makes him a natural leader. He can grow into the captain there.”

If making Salah the skipper helps him stay at Anfield for many a season, we’re all for it!

The 25-year-old is enjoying the most productive year of his career, scoring 28 goals so far, despite starting on the right.

He’s rapid, skilful, tenacious and has a habit of finding the back of the net when we need him to most.

His effort against Spurs last time out was truly incredible, although it sadly wasn’t a winner due to Harry Kane’s penalty in the final seconds.
