Roberto Firmino gave Liverpool an early lead against Southampton today.
The Brazilian finished coolly with his left-foot, following a clever sideways pass from fellow attacker Mo Salah, who registered his seventh Premier League assist of the season.
Firmino’s effort was his 20th in all competitions – a fantastic return from someone consistently branded, ‘not a proper striker’.
Southampton’s poor defending definitely helped us, but it takes a clinical side to capitalise on such opportunities.
When Mo and Bobby are in this kind of mood, teams cannot afford to make such mistakes, in short.
