6ft. 5′ giant labelled ‘Next Van Dijk’ admits he wants to play at Anfield

Celtic’s young Norwegian centre-back Kristoffer Ajer has admitted that one day he’d like to play for Liverpool at Anfield.

The 19-year-old is currently part of Brendan Rodgers’ squad and was doing a Q and A on Twitter, held by the club.

He stands at 6ft. 5′ and has previously played in midfield, but has recently been used in central defence due to his physical prowess.

As a result of his size and technical ability, and the fact he plays for Celtic, Ajer is being compared to Virgil van Dijk, the centre-back who cost Liverpool £75m in January.

We could have saved an awful lot of money if we’d targeted him during his time in Scotland, rather than buying him off Southampton, so perhaps we should send some scouts to check Ajer out!

He’s played at every Norwegian youth level and is highly rated by Rodgers, who is a fair judge of young talent, having brought through Raheem Sterling and Suso at Liverpool, among others.
