Steven Gerrard cannot wait for Liverpool U19s’ upcoming clash with Manchester United’s youngsters, who are managed by our captain’s former skipper Nicky Butt.
The great rivals take each other on in the UEFA Youth League Last 16 at Prenton Park at 3PM tomorrow, in a one-off tie that will decide which English giant will progress.
Gerrard is in charge of the U18s but also manages the U19s in Europe.
We’re not sure who’s going to win, although we’d love the young Reds to progress, but you can always check out daily free footy tips for extra help!
Our legendary former captain has all the experience in the world to help his youngsters, and has picked three out as the game-winners.
“Manchester United have some good players, they have a couple of technicians in there and they will have their threats but so have we,” Gerrard told the official website. “We have to make sure the people who are our threats in the top end of the pitch deliver, like Bobby Adekanye, Curtis Jones and Liam Millar. These players have to come to the party and deliver.”
Jones is the skipper and we reckon he’s the standout player in the side in the absence of Rhian Brewster.
