This is very interesting…

Respected Brazilian media outlet UOL have rebuffed recent claims in the English media that Liverpool’s interest in Roma stopper Alisson has cooled.

What LFC target Alisson did in the Champions League last night is incredible…

In fact, they suggest that we’re still very much in the race for Brazil’s no.1 and actually ‘have an advantage’ over PSG and Real Madrid, with the 25-year-old keen on an Anfield switch!

Melissa Reddy recently claimed in Goal that we’d decided not to focus on Alisson after Loris Karius’s decent performances, but we really hope the South American claims of a u-turn are genuine.

Rated at £62m, Alisson Becker is one of the world’s best keepers and has proved as much with a string of sensational performances this season in both Serie A and the Champions League.

He’s a phenomenal shot-stopper, but has excellent sweeper traits and visibly instils confidence in his defenders, too.

We’d like Karius to keep playing well, obviously, but we’d be foolish to ignore the possibility of bringing in a properly elite stopper.

If we do sign Alisson, we’ll have the world’s most expensive keeper and most expensive centre-back, to boot.

One way of sorting out a leaky defence!
