Liverpool’s expected XI v West Ham: Emre Can returns to exceptional side

We think Jurgen Klopp will make a few delicate changes to the side that thrashed FC Porto 5-0 last time out.

Since then, Joe Gomez has returned to full fitness and Emre Can’s suspension is over – while the players have had an enjoyable warm weather break in Marbella.

In goal, Loris Karius is guaranteed to start barring a late injury, with Simon Mignolet likely to stay on the bench for the rest of the season.

At right-back, we think Gomez will come in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who’s been used heavily recently.

Andrew Robertson, like Alberto Moreno was earlier in the season, is the automatic choice at left-back.

It’s a toss up between Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren to partner Virgil van Dijk, but we hope the Croat gets the nod.

Jordan Henderson will anchor the side, with two of Emre Can, Gini Wijnaldum, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner or Adam Lallana either side. We reckon Can and Gini will start, as they have throughout the term when fit.

Up top, Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino pick themselves.
