Reds will love Oxlade-Chamberlain’s classy gesture to fans after West Ham game

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has earned the plaudits for taking the time to make an admirable gesture to Liverpool fans after Saturday’s win over West Ham.

The midfielder was pictured returning from the dressing room to greet supporters well beyond full-time and subsequently take photographs with them.

It marked a minor but no doubt meaningful instalment in Oxlade-Chamberlain’s rise as a leader, contributed to by not only his interaction with Reds but also his notable determination to make a name for himself as a star on Merseyside.

This follows a popular incident in which the Englishman stepped in to help Philippe Coutinho tackle a tricky question surrounding his future in a post-match interview prior to his Barcelona move.

The former Arsenal man had every right to be cheerful after a superb individual display to help drive another devastating attacking performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men.

After a quiet start to the game, the 24-year-old began to inject the bursting runs from midfield to help enforce Liverpool’s swift transition from defence to attack.

His persistence was rewarded in the second-half when he assisted Mohamed Salah’s 31st goal of the season across all competitions with a determined jinking run on the edge of the box.

Oxlade-Chamberlain reaped the benefits of Klopp’s slight team rotation, taking full advantage of his start and once again giving his manager a selection dilemma heading into the next game.
