LFC’s potential 18/19 XI if Klopp nails top targets; Incredible Brazilian spine

Obviously this is a little pointless and only meant really as a bit of fun, but it’s interesting nonetheless…

And as we know, things can change, as can targets – but as it stands – Liverpool’s summer transfer plan is already drawn up.

If we nail the first-choices, here’s how the team could look next season.

Paul Joyce writes in the Times that we’re going all out for Napoli’s Jorginho, the cultured no.6 who provides tenacity and passing at the base of midfield. The Brazilian born Italian international is enjoying the season of his life and we’d be over the moon to welcome him into the side.

With Naby Keita’s signing confirmed, our midfield looks potentially very exciting for 2018/19.

Elsewhere, Alisson remains a target for between the sticks, depending on Roma’s asking price and the performances of Loris Karius. The German has until the end of the season to maintain his decent form and prove to Jurgen Klopp that we don’t need an upgrade, but an opportunity to sign Brazil’s no.1 would be too good to miss.

Many want another central defender purchased, but with Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez (not to mention Ragnar Klavan) competing for the spot alongside Virgil van Dijk, we just can’t see it happening; while at fullback, we’re very well covered.

There’s a chance a playmaker will be signed as a replacement for Coutinho, but Keita will most likely take the free-roaming midfield role – and nobody is displacing the front-three!

With Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino, we just need to worry about tying them down to new, lengthy contracts.

This team is potentially title winning, anyway:
