We’re holding out pretty much zero hope that Emre Can will renew his Liverpool terms and remain at the club.
For some reason, the German wants to leave, with Juventus his all but confirmed destination.
Yet neither club will announce the news and Can himself just tells the press he’s ‘only focussed on Liverpool’ every time he’s asked – which is quite a lot.
According to Tuttosport [via Sport Witness] in Italy, the deal is done, but Can doesn’t want it made public yet because he does genuinely care about Liverpool’s season and wants to give his all to the cause before the summer.
Once our season objectives are either met, or not, Can will announce he’s signed for Juve.
It’s a shame, as he’s a very good midfielder who’s only going to get better.
We’ve stood by him during his development years and he’s now going to head to Turin on a free transfer, where the Italians will benefit from the player he’s now become.
But it’s football, and this can happen. We just have to hope his replacement is of requisite standard.
