Commencing the 2019/20 season, each Premier League team will get a two-week winter break early February.

Fixtures will run non-stop, but half the sides will skip one weekend, and the other half the next.

Klopp makes odd claim about XI v FC Porto, but we’re not buying it….

Here’s the rest of the stipulations, as presented by BBC 5LIVE:

With Liverpool out of the FA Cup, we actually had a 13-day winter break anyway in February…

Jurgen Klopp will be pleased with the news, but really – it won’t make the Christmas schedule any less crazy – it’ll just give his players a short break afterwards!

During the festive period, teams play every two or three days, which seems strange considering they’re then given a nice break in February and one mid-January, too, if they’re out of a cup.

Besides, it’s a positive start, anyway – and could definitely help the England national team in summer tournaments.
