Sky Sports pundit gives LFC transfer advice after link to DMC

Southampton legend and fan Matt Le Tissier reckons Liverpool should save time and money by hiring his club’s scouts instead of buying all their best players!

Yesterday, L’Equipe linked us to Mario Lemina, the Gabonese international who’s done well at St. Mary’s since signing from Juventus in the summer.

Since 2014, we’ve hoovered Southampton’s best players almost every transfer window, acquiring Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Nathaniel Clyne, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk.

The latest arrival cost us £75m in January, but Jurgen Klopp could add Lemina to the list this summer!

Le Tissier makes a fair point!

Ridiculously, the money we’ve given to the Saints in transfer fees, around £170m, would almost be enough to buy the club outright!

But perhaps their scouts would be a good compromise.

Our own scouts seem to be doing a top job themselves, mind. Van Dijk looks an incredible signing, as were Mo Salah and Andrew Robertson, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is improving too.
