Probably not, but sometimes it certainly seems like the football Gods are conspiring!
Ahead of today’s Champions League semi-final draw, an odd stat is being circled by fans everywhere:
The last time four clubs from the four major leagues in Europe (England, Spain, Italy and Germany) were in the semis together was 1981.
In that year, Liverpool beat Bayern Munich and then Real Madrid in the Final!

We’d certainly take that it was offered to us today!
Most fans want to avoid Real Madrid, who’ve proved jaw-droppingly effective at European knockout football over the past few years.
Bayern are also very solid, while AS Roma are the wildcard of the four following their crazy comeback victory over Barcelona.
In reality though, Liverpool shouldn’t fear anyone. We’ve just beaten Manchester City 5-1 over two legs.
We’ll be the team everyone wants to avoid.
