Sky Sports share timely Mo Salah transfer news ahead of Champions League

It’s no surprise that with Liverpool possibly meeting Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League, links between their club and our best player have sprung up.

Of course, we have to navigate past AS Roma and they need to maintain their lead over Bayern Munich, but right now, it’s looking like we’ll face the side that has won the competition for three of the past four years in the final.

Despite this, Real have an ageing frontline which has struggled domestically and in Europe relied entirely on the brilliance and absurd consistency of Cristiano Ronaldo.

It’s not unlikely that they would be interested in Mo Salah, Liverpool’s 43-goal sensation, but Sky Sports claim no contact between the clubs has been made.

The media outlet has rubbished claims that Liverpool have rebuffed an early approach, simply suggesting that no talks have occurred.

In 2013, Bayern Munich badly unsettled Borussia Dortmund (then managed by Jurgen Klopp) by triggering Mario Gotze’s release-clause and announcing the deal before the final had taken place.

Salah though has no release-clause and will be solely focussed on the biggest game of his career, providing we get there.

We imagine the summer will be full of painstaking transfer rumours, most of which will have been conjured from thin air, but hopefully we’ll be too busy basking in European Cup glory to care!
