Surprise name travels to Rome with Liverpool squad

Liverpool have had horrible luck with injuries recently, but there’s some good news ahead of tomorrow’s tie with AS Roma in the Champions League semi-final second leg.

Adam Lallana, who many assumed wouldn’t play again this season, has travelled with the Reds as part of the 23-man squad.

Here’s the names Jurgen Klopp has selected:

Karius, Clyne, Van Dijk, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Firmino, Salah, Henderson, Klavan, Moreno, Mane, Lallana, Mignolet, Robertson, Ings, Solanke, Jones, Ward, Woodburn, Masterson, Camacho, Alexander-Arnold

Lallana has barely played all season and has made just two starts in the Premier League and Champions League combined – failing to score or register a assist in any competition.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Emre Can still out, the return of Lallana is handy, although we don’t expect him to play any part in the game.

He may be able to help us in our final two Premier League fixtures against Chelsea and Brighton, and hopefully will be able to make the bench in the final, should we get there…

From a personal point of view, Lallana holds a very outside chance of being selected in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad, although he’ll have few complaints if he’s left out considering his virtual entire absence this term.
