Please never try and tell me that Jordan Henderson isn’t Liverpool captain material…
The skipper is phenomenal off the field and increasingly influential on it, as his performances in both legs of the semi-final suggest.
Last night following our qualification to the final of the Champions League, Henderson did two things that impressed us.
Firstly, he demanded a banner was brought onto the field that supported Sean Cox, the Liverpool fan who was viciously assaulted by fans last week.
Secondly, he gave Loris Karius an earful, after the German goalkeeper ignored his instructions for Radja Nainggolan’s late penalty.
“I told ya, don’t move!” he says.
If he had stayed in the middle, he’d have saved the Belgian’s driven spot-kick.
Thankfully, there was no time after the goal for Roma to try and score another, which would have forced the tie into Extra Time.
Still, listen to your captain, Loris!
@GaryLineker Did anybody else see Henderson having a pop at Karius for not staying in the middle of the goal for the Nainggolan Penalty at the end! Think he says something like “I told ya, dont move”!! pic.twitter.com/BKZt6Tj9Ua
