LFC to spend £40m on the perfect Naby Keita partner – Reports

Who would have thought Liverpool could have an All-Guinean midfield in 2018/19?!

Well having already signed Naby Keita for the new campaign – it’s a possibility – especially with fresh links between the club and Amadou Diawara emerging.

Italian outlet Calciomercato, (not the most reliable, we admit), name Liverpool as a potential suitor for Napoli’s 20-year-old.

They suggest that Spurs are also looking at Diawara, who’s very highly rated, despite being a bit-part player in Serie A this term for the side who look destined to finish as runners-up to Juventus.

Diawara has made just 12 starts in all competitions, but is regarded highly for his passing and ability to control games centrally.

He’d naturally slot into our midfield next term as the deep-lying no.6, with Keita and one other either side in box-to-box roles.

In fact, the only reason he hasn’t played more is because of Jorginho’s brilliance, with the Italy international another well-publicised Reds target.

The original report doesn’t state a potential price-tag, but HITC state that £40m should be enough to capture the talented youngster.

We’d prefer Jorginho in truth, but Diawara wouldn’t be a bad backup option. If we are keen, we’re sure Keita can convince the midfielder to join him at Anfield, as well!
