The Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool links continue…
And journalist Rafael Hernandez, who has his ear to the ground on all things Barcelona, has made a smart point about the potential deal.

Very reliable source confirms Exciting Dembele news as LFC contacted by Barca
According to Hernandez, any transfer will be smoother as the Catalan giants owe us plenty of money still for Coutinho (having purchased the Brazilian for a total fee of £142m in January).
I’m not particularly worried about Dembélé leaving yet, just remember last summer… Much to happen still, club’s considering it, not decided.

Liverpool having an edge to sign Dembélé over other clubs makes sense because part of the Coutinho deal. Barça owes them a lot of money.

Ideally we’d never deal with Barca again, but it’s quite nice to see us linked to their players rather than the other way round!
Dembele is a phenomenal talent and we’d take him at Liverpool in a heart-beat.
Those who are claiming ‘he won’t get in the starting XI’ are not thinking laterally, either.
People said the same about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and he ended up becoming an automatic starter before his injury.
Klopp showed his willingness to play 4-2-3-1 against Brighton on the final day of the season, too, which theoretically would allow Dembele to join the Fab Three and reform the Fab Four, that was disbanded when Coutinho went to Barca…
With Naby Keita already arriving to bolster the midfield, this isn’t impossible.
