Why Thibault Courtois is ‘baffled’ & what Brazilian journo says on Alisson…

Chelsea keeper Thibault Courtois is ‘baffled’ by suggestions his club want a new no.1, with AS Roma’s Alisson mooted as a potential option.

The giant Belgian’s contract is up at the end of next season, and because he’s yet to pen new terms, there’s been hints that the Blues will offload now in order to get a large transfer fee still.

Courtois though thinks he’ll stay at Stamford Bridge until 2019.

“I’m committed to Chelsea,” he told the Standard.. “I have a contract until next year and I will be here.”

If Courtois is staying at Chelsea, then the Blues won’t need to put any effort into signing Alisson, which stops the possibility of a transfer merry-go-round involving three or four clubs.

Brazilian outlet UOL state that Alisson has in fact spoken with Liverpool and wants to wrap up his future before the World Cup starts in nine days’ time.

The journalist who wrote the piece, Dassler Marques, recently stated that Alisson was more likely to ‘go red’ than ‘go white,’ meaning he’s currently closer to Anfield than Real Madrid.
