Yaya Toure’s agent says crazy stuff about Pep, Liverpool, £1/week contracts & more

Yaya Toure enjoyed a brilliant career at Manchester City, so we think it’s a little strange that he’s burning bridges so easily upon the expiration of his contract.

He’s currently a free agent, after the Premier League champions and more specifically Pep Guardiola decided not to renew his terms.

Instead of taking the decision gracefully, Toure has given an inflammatory interview in which he’s claimed Pep has an issue with African players.

Now, Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has weighed in, claiming the 35-year-old will play for one of City’s domestic rivals on a £1/week contract – as an act of revenge – name-dropping Liverpool as a potential suitor!

“Yaya has many offers from different countries, ready to pay a lot of money, but we decided to dedicate the next season to Guardiola,” he said, cited by MCFCWatch.

“And to prove and show the fans of City that Yaya is not finished. He is full of energy and wants to play next season in England.

“At a time when big sums are being paid, I officially declare that Yaya is ready to move as a free agent to any English club in the top six with a salary of £1 pound a week. But with a bonus system based on certain successes.

“I believe that a player like Yaya would not harm Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Liverpool. Yaya is a winner. And never before has a top footballer with leadership qualities harmed any club, especially when it is not necessary to pay for it.”

To be honest, as fantastic as Toure was during his peak, Liverpool do not need his bad vibes and his bonkers agent entering the excellent dynamic Jurgen Klopp has created.

Even on £1/week!

We’ve already signed Naby Keita and Fabinho for central midfield anyway, so are well stocked in that area, despite Emre Can’s imminent departure.

Still, we’re wondering if any club will take the bait!
