Sky Sports give LFC fans more bad transfer news…

Sky Sports isn’t necessarily an automatically trustworthy news source, but they’ve still delivered what many might consider a fairly hefty blow.

A new goalkeeper is a must this summer, regardless of the fact that Loris Karius’s Champions League mistakes were likely down to a concussion.

As a result, AS Roma stopper Alisson has been on the top of our shortlist for some time, but according to Sky, our chances of securing the Brazilian are slim.

They’ve not explained why as of yet, but we’d presume it’s got something to do with the asking price the Italians demand.

If we’re not going to sign Alisson, there doesn’t seem like too many high quality options available.

Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid is on every big club’s radar, but his €100m release-clause [Metro] would have to be met to secure him.

Gianluigi Donnaruma is another talented keeper, but his agent is Mino Raiola, a man Jurgen Klopp does not and will not deal with.

We do not know who Liverpool will go for, but really hope it’s not Jack Butland, Stoke’s relegated Englishman.

The Reds haven’t had a top keeper for over five years now, and we’re unlikely to win trophies consistently without one. It’s time Liverpool picked their man and paid the price.
