Liverpool are… wait for it… back in for Nabil Fekir, reports the Mirror.

They claim that ‘in the last few days,’ we’ve restarted negotiations with Lyon over the transfer of the 24-year-old Frenchman.

We had practically signed Fekir before the World Cup, but pulled out of a deal at the last minute over concerns about his knee, which were revealed following a medical.

Nobody knows the exact extent of the issue, considering Fekir played over 40 games last season and was exceptional.

But it must have been serious if we cancelled the transfer after the player had already done his introductory LFCTV interviews…

For this reason, we’d be very surprised if a deal rematerialised.

Obviously Jurgen Klopp wants him, but we assume someone else will arrive to be Coutinho’s long-term replacement.

There’s been tenuous links to Marcos Asensio and Christian Pulisic, but until the World Cup in Russia ends, we’re not sure anything will materialise.
