Loris Karius took to Instagram last night and thanked Liverpool fans for the warm welcome they gave him to Anfield.
The German came on for Alisson, who was also cheered heavily every time he got the ball, late on – for his first appearance at Liverpool’s home ground since the Champions League Final, in which his mistakes cost us against Real Madrid.
As a result, the club has spent £66m on Alisson, but supporters have not turned on Karius, who’s endured a tough summer and is struggling mentally after what happened in Ukraine.

The applause and subsequent appreciation from Karius could do him the world of good.
He’s not going to be anything other than a sub this term, but perhaps some time out of the limelight will do him good.
Hopefully Alisson will perform exceptionally and Karius can come in for the FA Cup at the turn of the New Year.
