Forgotten man catches Klopp’s eye at Melwood this week

Forgotten Liverpool striker Divock Origi caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye with an impressive performance in training this week, according to reports.

The Belgian ace had been looking set for a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, though it now looks like this one is off the cards.

Goal claim we’ve pulled the plug on a deal as they did not want to loan Origi out again and could now keep him unless someone comes up with an offer to sign him permanently before the end of the month.

The report adds that the 23-year-old impressed with his showing in an inter-team match at Melwood this week, and could be a surprise contender for the squad in the near future if any of our other forwards pick up injuries.

Personally, I can’t see Origi getting much playing time now, with so much competition ahead of him and Daniel Sturridge in particular looking like a man reborn.

Still, he was once rated as a top young talent so there’s no harm in keeping him around and giving him some chances here and there over what could be a long and gruelling season.
