Fabinho tells Brazilian media why Klopp hasn’t played him yet

One of the slight oddities of this campaign so far is that one of our major summer signings, Fabinho, has yet to play a minute of first-team football, despite featuring for the entirety of pre-season.

The Brazilian arrived from AS Monaco back in May and had an entire summer under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance to learn the manager’s methods, because he wasn’t selected as part of the World Cup squad.

However, Tite has now called up Fabinho and will use him as right-back in Brazil’s upcoming friendlies with USA and El Salvador.

Fabinho isn’t worried by his start to life at Liverpool though and has ensured us that Klopp’s been very open with him about the situation.

We got the quotes from Brazilian Football expert @BrazilStat, on Twitter:

“He is being cautious… he has already talked with me about it several times,” Fabinho said of Klopp. “I always want to play, but I am calm and patient because the season is long. I will work hard and be prepared when I get my chance.”

Once the players come back from the international break, our fixture schedule ramps up, because the Champions League and EFL Cup begins, so we’re sure Fabinho will come into the equation.

Long-term he’s very likely to become our holding midfielder.
