Gary Lineker has admitted he got it wrong on James Milner after yet another top performance from Liverpool’s no.7.
The hardest working player in the top flight was named Man of the Match by Sky Sports and although we would have personally given it to Virgil van Dijk, Milner was certainly in contention.

He played excellent forward passes, worked his socks off and won tackles and interceptions all day long at Wembley.
And as a result, Lineker tweeted his error in judging the 32-year-old incorrectly:
I once tweeted that I didn’t really know what @JamesMilner was on the football pitch. I do these days, and owe him an apology. He’s a terrific, versatile and intelligent footballer. My bad.

The player himself took to Twitter not only to celebrate the three points, but to give his attacking team-mates a warning that we should have been ‘out of sight’!
He’s not wrong, as we had countless chances when we were three on two, or four on three, with Spurs fullbacks nowhere to be seen.
Another great away win – but should have been out of sight!
Great support as always 👏🏻#keepitgoing#YNWA#nextupPSG pic.twitter.com/t8AH5clnGJ— James Milner (@JamesMilner) September 15, 2018
