LFC offer ‘tempting salary’ & ‘huge signing bonus’ to elegant no.25

It’s funny how during the international break, various outlets start to share rather dubious transfer news

It’s almost like they need something to generate hits without club football!

That being said, Liverpool’s interest in Adrien Rabiot, who’s been linked today by Mundo Deportivo, is real.

Their report actually centres around Barcelona wanting PSG’s France international, but claims they’re finding it difficult to convince Rabiot due to Liverpool offering a ‘tempting salary’ and a ‘huge signing on bonus’.

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of this season, which means any non-French club can secure his services on a Bosman free transfer come January 1 – although the player wouldn’t move until the summer.

He’s a very talented player and if we can sign him on a free, it would make perfect sense. Rabiot has technical ability and work-rate in equal measure and is a theoretically perfect midfielder for a Jurgen Klopp side.

The fact he already plays for PSG and is wanted by Barca suggests he’s elite, but this is now the only kind of player who’d actively improve our XI.

Rabiot isn’t the natural playmaker we probably require, but he’s an upgrade on the seemingly permanently injured Adam Lallana, who may need replacing in 2019.
