(Video) Wijnaldum and Salah net superb winners on international duty

Both Mo Salah and Gini Wijnaldum scored for their countries on Friday night, as the Netherlands beat world champions France 2-0 and Egypt overcame Tunisia 3-2.

Virgil van Dijk pocketed both Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe while Wijnaldum followed up on a saved shot from former Red Ryan Babel to secure the winning goal for Ronald Koeman’s side.

Mo Salah became the third-highest ever Egyptian goalscorer with 39 goals in 62 appearances after he scored a last-minute winner over Tunisia in what was Egypt’s first victory over their opponents since 2002.

With the scores level at 2-2, Salah played a neat one-two, touched the ball past the last defender and finished with aplomb.

The most important thing is that neither player is injured. Both should gain confidence from netting and can hopefully bring that form back to Merseyside with them ready for when we face Watford.
