Liverpool’s Brazilian tears ligament and will be out until 2019

Ah, this is rubbish news.

Allan Rodrigues de Souza just can’t catch a break.

German outlet Kicker have reported that the Brazilian midfielder, owned by Liverpool but currently on loan at Frankfurt, has torn his knee ligaments in training and will return to Melwood for treatment…

The 21-year-old had been on loan in the Bundesliga in order to finally get a work-permit, having arrived at Liverpool way back in 2015.

Since then, he’s played in Finland, Belgium, Germany and Cyprus – all with the aim of getting himself into Liverpool’s first-team squad.

But right now, it looks a very distant and unlikely eventuality.

Allan had made two starts this season, coming off the bench twice for the high-flying side, but we’d now be surprised if he returned there following his injury, after failing to make too much of an impact so far.

Hopefully can get fit over the festive period and shine on loan somewhere, as he’s not really fulfilled the potential he showed in Finland as an 18-year-old, yet.
