King Kenny: ‘On fire’ Reds forward has shut his critics up

Sir Kenny Dalglish says Mo Salah has defied his critics this season and proven his world-class ability.

After scoring 44 times last season, he has 11 goals in 18 Premier League matches this campaign and has really started to find form over the last couple of weeks.

Speaking to Sky Sports prior to the game against Wolves, Dalglish said: “Salah is getting his handful again. He was getting a bit of criticism at the start of the season as he wasn’t as regular as last year – well, he has defied that as well.

“He has come back on and is on fire.”

Along with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, Salah is crucial to Liverpool’s title hopes. Often, the top scoring side in the Premier League wins the title, and with Manchester City also electric, they will need to maintain their good form.

It’s not only Salah who has impressed Dalglish, with the Reds legend also praising Firmino, who has gotten used to his new number 10 role now, and Mane, who is only three goals away from matching his Premier League tally from last season.

Dalglish said of the Reds’ front three as a whole: “When you watch the three of them there is always one better than the other two, they take it in turns. That is hugely important as it’s not always the same person every week scoring.

“Whoever scores goals, they enjoy it. It’s not selfish and they enjoy playing with each other.”

It’s safe to say the Reds have definitely clicked now – over the last couple of weeks, the attacking play has been much more fluid. The second half of the season is perfectly set up for what should be an exhilarating title tilt.
