Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to a second consecutive defeat for Premier League title rivals Manchester City.
The Reds strengthened their grasp at the top of the table with a convincing 4-0 win over a toothless Newcastle at Anfield.
Pep Guardiola’s champions meanwhile slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on the back of Saturday’s shock 3-2 loss at home to Crystal Palace.
The results mean Liverpool now boast a six point lead ahead of second-placed Tottenham, who leapfrogged City thanks to their 5-0 win over Bournemouth at Wembley.
Jurgen Klopp’s men now face a tough fortnight in their bid to maintain control at the top, with Friday’s meeting with Arsenal set to be followed by a visit to face City at the Etihad on January 3.
Here’s how fans reacted on social media…
Unbelievable that City have lost two in a row! Meanwhile we have got some goal difference back on them and now have a decent points advantage on them! What a festive period it’s been so far!!!! #LFC
