Bruno Fernandes, Sporting Lisbon’s attacking midfielder, is a target for Jurgen Klopp, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The 24-year-old has 14 goals and nine assists this season and reportedly has a €100 million release clause, although his club are strangely said to only be demanding £36 million to let him leave.

With James Milner reportedly interested in signing for Leeds United in the summer, another midfielder may well be targeted, but not this month.

Fernandes has also been linked with Everton in recent times. He has 11 international caps for his country, Portugal, and has scored one goal in that time.

He signed for his current club from Sampdoria in the summer of 2017, and has impressed in the Portuguese top flight since then.

It would be a surprise to see anyone arrive this January given Klopp’s recent comments on the subject, but this could be a move that takes place in the summer transfer window.

Fernandes certainly looks like an interesting player and has very good goalscoring and assisting numbers for a midfielder.
