The three best stats ahead of LFC v Leicester City

Another huge game looms for Liverpool this evening with the visit of 10th-placed Leicester City to Anfield.

After Newcastle United beat Manchester City yesterday, it feels absolutely massive. Ahead of the match, we’ve picked out the three best statistics prior to kick-off.

According to LiverpoolFC.com, Mo Salah could become the first Reds player since Luis Suarez to score 20 or more goals in successive seasons should he score against Leicester City. It’s surely a matter of time before he achieves that feat – he’s currently the Premier League’s top scorer with 16.

Secondly, Alisson’s 13 clean sheets so far in the league this season is the most in one campaign by a Reds goalkeeper since Pepe Reina managed 14 in 2012-13 – and there are still 15 games to go!

The Brazilian – and the rest of the defence – has only conceded 13 times in 23 matches, which is quite simply magnificent.

The best stat of them all, though, is that the Reds can go seven points clear at the summit of the Premier League table with a victory thanks to Rafa Benitez’s heroics last night.

With 14 games each to go after tonight’s game, making it 63 points from 24 matches this season would be an incredible achievement – and would be another big step towards the title.
