Journo says LFC should ‘build Michael Edwards a statue’ after latest update

Respected Telegraph correspondent Jonathan Northcroft, who we’ve always had plenty of time for, has lavished praise on sporting director Michael Edwards, after Liverpool’s financial accounts were published on Companies House.

The journalist asked how the Edwards statue is coming along, after it was revealed that we’ve genuinely paid for our currently brilliant squad by offloading deadwood (and Coutinho)!

Bar the Brazilian, none of the players in his tweet below have left any visible dent in our squad – and allowed us to bring in the likes of Sadio Mane, Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk – to name just but a few!

Liverpool’s business, both in terms of incomings and outgoings, has been nigh on perfect for the past two summers…

Bringing in Salah was a stroke of genius, but to back up the Egyptian’s arrival we’ve secured the world’s best central defender and Alisson – a goalkeeper of immense pedigree.

These are the reasons why Liverpool are in a genuine Premier League title race right now.

Provided Jurgen Klopp’s best players stay fit, and as a club we can collectively handle our nerves, this year could be Liverpool’s first title in 30 years.
