Weird omens begin to circle web about Liverpool’s season…

Are Liverpool going to win the Premier League or the Champions League this season? We hope so more than anything – but are completely aware that it has very little to do with random coincidences, fate, a higher power or anything in between.

It has everything to do with our team’s ability to win football matches from now until the summer – and just as importantly – Manchester City’s.

That being said, some odd synchronisities became apparent at the weekend – which we’ll run through now:

  • In 1977, Red Rum won the Grand National for the 2nd year on the bounce. That year, Liverpool won the title, one point ahead of City. In 2019, Tiger Roll just won the Grand National for the second year in a row…
  • The last time Watford reached the FA Cup semi-final was 1984. Liverpool won the title and the European Cup!

Now, this kind of stuff rears it’s head every time Liverpool get close to winning something, in all honesty.

We remember similar ‘freak occurrences’ being discussed in 2007 before the Athens Champions League Final – and last year ahead of Kiev.

So, it means absolutely NOTHING!

But having said that, it would be lovely if we were wrong and both competitions were pre-decided with Liverpool’s name on the PL and CL trophies!

It’s FC Porto on Tuesday before a Premier League clash with Chelsea at Anfield at the weekend, which will naturally bring back memories of the infamous April clash from 2014.

BRING IT ON!
