Jurgen Klopp and his players will spend a week in Marbella prior to the Champions League final against Tottenham on June 1, as reported by the Evening Standard.

The boss will have time to drill the squad ahead of the huge game in Madrid, with a near three-week gap between the end of the Premier League season and the showpiece match with Spurs.

The players will have a few days off to recover from a tiring spell before it will be all systems go as they prepare to bring home number six. They will head to the south of Spain next Monday.

Marbella is where the players prepared for last season’s final, and also where they spent some time mid-season, so the whole group know the place well.

This year, the Reds will be firm favourites heading into the game having beaten Mauricio Pochettino’s side twice this season already.

Klopp is known to enjoy having time to implement his ideas ahead of a match, so having more than a fortnight with an exclusive focus on one game should play into the Reds’ hands.

It should also give sufficient time for Roberto Firmino to recover from the injury that saw him miss the last couple of games of the league season.

With plans now in place for a training camp, the countdown to the final is on!
