Reds man reportedly told to leave Anfield by Spurs boss Pochettino

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has been told by Mauricio Pochettino that he needs to leave Anfield for the sake of his career, according to Football Insider.

In the week of the Champions League final, it might seem odd that this sort of thing has emerged, but Lallana is known to be in regular contact with his former Southampton boss.

The England international only started six times for the Reds this season, and now 31, his career is entering the final stages.

Southampton have been linked with a £13 million move, while there is likely to be interest from elsewhere around the Premier League: when Lallana’s at his best, he’s a top player, and someone might be willing to take a gamble on him. Spurs might even be one of the sides interested in his signature.

The possibility remains that he could stay at Liverpool – and Jurgen Klopp would not be against that given how much he likes him – but if a decent move comes up for Lallana, his time on Merseyside could be up.

We think it’s about 50-50 whether he stays or goes this summer, as much as many Reds fans wouldn’t mind him being let go.
