Milner makes LFC-Man City comparison after winning the Champions League

James Milner was one of the few Reds men to have won a trophy before this weekend, but he says that now one has been claimed, many more can follow.

To get the experience of having one trophy under their belts can only be a good thing in terms of future successes. Hopefully, this can set up another stellar season next year – there is no reason why it can’t.

Via the Daily Star, Milner explained: “When I was at City and we won the first FA Cup, that was massive for us and that gave us the belief and the winning mentality that we can do it and hopefully, this will be the same.

“We will enjoy it for as long as we can but we will come back pre-season and go again.”

Like Milner says, the Reds will start next season with ambitions of winning more silverware. Having got a taste for it, all the players will want more, starting with the UEFA Super Cup to come at the start of the next campaign against Chelsea, the Europa League winners.

With new signings to come into the mix, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to come back from injury, and youth players like Rhian Brewster coming through, the future is looking exceedingly bright.
