Spanish report: Reds will re-sign Coutinho this summer on one condition

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool want to bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield – but will not break the bank in order to do so.

The report suggests that Klopp would be prepared to forgive Coutinho for the way that he left the club, with the only stumbling block a potential transfer fee.

If Barcelona were to allow the Brazilian to leave Camp Nou this summer, it would surely take a huge bid fairly close to what they paid for him 18 months ago (£143 million), but the Spanish media outlet claim the Reds want a deal if the price is right for them.

Barcelona do want to bring in Antoine Griezmann and Neymar this transfer window –  and therefore it would be reasonable to think they might need to raise funds – but whether the Reds would get anywhere close to their valuation seems unlikely to us.

It seems highly improbable that Coutinho will come back to Anfield – many fans wouldn’t even want him to – but you never know. Stranger things have happened.
