Jurgen Klopp confirms two Reds picked up knocks in Newcastle United clash – but neither are serious

Jurgen Klopp says both Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane picked up minor knocks against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday, though both are expected to be fit for the game against Napoli on Tuesday night.

Both were instrumental in the win, although Brazilian superstar Roberto Firmino rightly took most of the headlines.

Mane notched twice, including the crucial equaliser just when the Anfield crowd was beginning to get a little agitated and frustrated, while Robertson had a tough time for Scotland on international duty, but looked to be back to his best here.

Klopp told LiverpoolFC.com after the match: “They all got [minor] knocks; Robbo got a knock, Sadio got a knock, but all are fine.”

Both players will need to be at their best on Tuesday. Last season, the away fixture in Naples was one of the worst collective performances of the season, and the players will want to put that right this time around.

Beat Napoli away, and the Reds would, you would think, already have one foot in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
