Carra : The example for all

Posted by

There has been a lot of change at the club these past weeks; with players leaving and new faces coming in. Many have been upset with Mascherano’s refusal to play for the club, a club which took him from the depths of West Ham’s reserves to a World Class player. Loyalty is difficult to find in today’s modern game. You will be hard pressed to find it with foreign players so far away from home like Macherano. Even home grown players like our own captain, his head was once turned; thank god he stayed. One persons head has never been turned away from , forever like the Liverbird on the player’s chest!

Jamie Carragher celebrates his testimonial next Saturday, which will be a great day to acknowledge such dedication and passion for one club. Through the wind and the rain, good and bad times at the club, Carra has been there like the rock he is on the pitch. In a week when Masherano refused to play for our club, the players coming in only need to look at Carra as the perfect example of a loyal professional.

He made his professional debut in the 1996–97 season and under Rafa, we saw him become one of Europe’s Top Centre Half’s; keeping the continents best strikers in his back pocket on epic European nights home and away. Off the pitch, Carragher received the freedom of his home borough of Sefton for his local charity work and “the exceptional example he sets to the youth of today.” He also works actively in community with his 23 foundation; “The aim is to raise £100,000 per year, all of which will be used to help give Liverpool kids a better life.” http://www.jamiecarragher23.co.uk/

This man is an example for all young aspiring Footballers. Football has changed; managers come and go, players do get forced out of clubs at times. Players seek greener pastures when the going gets tough. But Jamie never asks for a pay rise (I believe he is on £50 – £60k? Correct me if I am wrong) and he understands the value and legacy for playing for such a great club. I wish every one of our players displayed the passion, desire, drive and dedication our number 23 does. Have a great day on Saturday Jamie….
You are the reason “We all dream of a team of Carraghers…”

  1. only reason hes stayed is cos he isnt good enough to earn a move to a richer club. and lfc scousers dont seem to hav any pride. u rather hav a evertonian play for us then give stevie g who is a million times better football then carragher credit for stayin with us wen he cud hav moved 2 a richer club 2 win stuff every yr. i rather hav a team of gerrards then carragher cos gerrard can do everthing brilliantly rather then carragher who is only good 4 hoofin da ball straight back to da oppostion.

  2. Jamie Carragher is the only player who miraculously made it in football even though he totally lacks the technical ability and a football brain required of a decent footballer. And Liverpool fc must be the only so-called big club which holds a mediocre player like Carragher in such high esteem. All of which explains why Liverpool will always remain a “big club” only in the eyes of our so-called ardent supporters, but in reality, lfc is no better than the likes of Wigan, WBA and some better performing lower league sides. BTW, I almost puke watching them struggle to beat a WBA outfit. How woefully pathetic!

  3. May Liverpool never ever have the mmisfortune to have another player of the ilk of Jamie Carragher for the next one hundred generations!

  4. If you want to be considered a bona fide site, then cease your censorship this instant! Publish the true feelings of the fan.

  5. Now you see it, now you don’t. Whatever happened to my comment. Do you only publish what is pleasing to your eyes? Do you only want to hear comments that are pleasing to your ears? If so, you should stop soliciting viewers’ comments altogether this very moment!

  6. Seems like “News Bot” aint a real fan. Could write a list of games he has saved us. And you don’t get all those England Caps for being s*it. I could give the example of john o’shea or Utd for being crap, but dont wanna talk about those tw*ts. The most dedicated player in Liverpool’s recent history, what team have you been watching the last 15 years?

PS. Fowler was a childhood Evertonian, would you say that about him?
